Dynamics CRM Functional Design Document

Recently I was asked by a client for Dynamics CRM Functional Design Document. After several internal and external meetings here is the template we have come up with.  Please note this is not a complete list. This is meant to be a starting guide for anyone trying to use this document. Feel free to add your company's specific details.

Feel free to comment on the blog to get the conversation going.

  2. Just to update, the information provided in the note section on page 12 needs to be updated.

Where it is mentioned "Each record can have only one business process flow at a time", this has changed in Dynmaics 365 (latest version). Now we can have more than one BPF associated with a single entity record.

  3. Very useful document and helpful to my team. I was wondering if you new of a version for 365 financials, or even Dynamics GP, probably a stretch, but it never hurts to ask.

    1. Hi Jeff,
Unfortunately the document does not cover financials and GP.
